Solas College introduces 6th class children to the idea of attending third level education.

Our aim is to begin a conversation with children at risk of educational inequality about their potential to reach college while also building their sense of self-worth. We are here to raise expectations.

The programme begins with an interactive classroom discussion about third-level education and the steps each student can take to get there. The following week, the children visit a university campus. The trip gives children a taste of the life of a student, including a campus tour, workshop and lunch in the college cafeteria.

Solas College culminates in our annual College Awareness Week, which includes college-related activities in the classrooms and an award ceremony in Trinity College where children from each school present on their experiences and what they learned during the programme.
