Volunteers are the heart and soul of Solas Project—without their generosity and skills it would be impossible for us to achieve our vision.

We are fortunate to have amazing people supporting our work to improve the lives of disadvantaged young people in Dublin. As our programmes continue to expand, we continue to look for new people to join our team. We are now taking applications for the roles listed:

  • Are you looking for experience in a social context with children this summer? Volunteer with us for 6 days over a 5 week summer programme of fun and adventure for children aged 5 – 10 who live in inner city Dublin. Read more here and contact emily@solasproject.ie to apply

  • We are looking for accommodation for 3 European Solidarity Corps volunteers from July 2024 and ongoing from 2 to 14 months. Our ESC volunteers support us in our work with children of primary school age through the After Schools clubs and in school programmes. To be a volunteer under ESC they will be between the age of 18 and 30. They will go through an interview and selection process for this role. If you are interested in hosting one of our volunteers either for July and August OR for up to 12 months thereafter please contact emily@solasproject.ie

Rent will be covered by Solas Project. Contract negotiable. Accountability and relationship with Solas Project will make this a more appealing option. The ESC volunteers are well supported and looked after while here. They have mentors and other supports within the organisation.

  • This is your chance to be part of something bigger working towards providing equal opportunities for young people in Ireland today. 'The Club' is a place for children 5 – 8 years to grow and flourish by offering a safe place for children to come to every day after school. Read more about what’s involved in volunteering here.

  • We are looking for someone who would be available to transport children by mini-bus between various activities 2-3pm and 5-6pm. There would also be other trips on an ad hoc basis. Minimum commitment would be one afternoon a week or fortnight. Click here for more information.

  • Step Up is our one-on-one mentoring programme for 12 to 18-year-old secondary school aged young people. We meet outside of school hours in the evenings. Your role will be to connect, engage, and motivate the young person through chatting, listening, asking questions, and engaging in activities and games. Click here for more details.

  • At The Club we provide purposeful activities in a secure environment to help meet the physical, emotional, and intellectual needs of children who are potentially at risk of early school leaving due to social and educational disadvantage. Within this role you will be part of a larger international team of volunteers to organise and initiate activities and free play for the children. Read more here.

  • The Yard is a social enterprise made up of 16 – 24 year olds. We use wood turning as a tool to improve skills and awareness by demonstrating the benefits of teamwork. Wood turning experience is required for this role and a desire to build trusting relationships with young people in a workshop setting. Read more here.
