Originally from Donegal, Tamara joined Solas Project in August 2022 to be a part of the RUA D8 team. Tamara is passionate about seeing young people realise their potential, achieve their goals, and break through the barriers imposed on them by society. In her words:

“I strive to continue to be open, to learn and to be conscious of my privileges and to challenge the inequalities that are built into the structures in our society.”

Tamara holds a BA in Community and Youth Work from Maynooth University and has worked to support young people in a variety of settings including: a summer camp for young people with special needs, placements in Saol Project, Leargas and the Rape Crisis Network Ireland, in Merchants Quay Ireland and within the HSE. Tamara also completed a European Solidarity Corps programme working in a residential project in Sicily with young men who had criminal convictions and/or social service concerns.

Outside of work Tamara likes to travel, read and spend time with friends.
